FREAKY FRIDAY CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS

FEMALE ROLES
ELLIE BLAKE– Leading role, singer with strong belt and vocal range. teenager, smart, funny, rumpled and a bit sloppy - uses humor and brash behavior to hide her sadness of having lost her father at an early age - resentful of her mother and her upcoming marriage. By spending a day in her mother’s shoes, she comes to appreciate her struggles, learn self-acceptance, and realize the immeasurable love and mutual respect that bond a mother and daughter.
Note: Actress playing Ellie s
pends roughly 10 minutes as herself and then switches acting styles to portray Katherine trapped in Ellie’s body. This switch remains until the final few minutes of the show.

KATHERINE BLAKE - Leading Role, singer with strong belt and vocal range - Ellie’s young mother, decisive, smart, lovely, punctual - trying to keep her family and work life together as a single mom - in efforts to keep everything going well and be “perfect”, she’s lost successful communication with her daughter. By spending a day in Ellie’s shoes, she comes to appreciate her struggles, and realize the immeasurable love and mutual respect that bond a mother and daughter.

ENSEMBLE - These performers will be on stage for much of the show servingas a Greek chorus. Some of them will also act as younger students at the high school as well as wedding guests. Some will also play select catering staff, vendors, Savannah’s minions, and wedding guests.  Ensemble will comment on action and facilitate some of the transitions in scenes.

Freaky Friday Auditions

Registration for Freaky Friday auditions is currently open! Youth ages 9-18 with an interest in theatre are welcome to participate in the audition process for our Fall production. We are seeking youth of all skill and experience levels. Audition/registration fee is $250 for Cobb County residents and this fee is completely refunded if your young thespian is not cast in the production.  You may also receive a refund for the audition if you contact us at 770-819-3285 one full week prior to the audition date. Requests for refunds after auditions will not be granted.  Specific audition details on what to prepare or to bring will be emailed out to all registrants in late July. Auditions are expected to last for about an hour. Current audition times available are: 2pm, 2:45pm, 3:30pm, & 4:15pm.  Click here to register for an audition online or call the Mable House Arts Center at 770-819-3285.
